Southwest pilot suspended after broadcasting homophobic slurs
A Houston-based Southwest airlines pilot was suspended yesterday after a risque conversation in the cockpit was accidentally broadcast when his microphone on button was stuck in late March, according to Click2Houston.com.
The pilot complained that no stewardesses on his flights are suitable for dating.
A continuous stream of gays and grannies and grandes, he said, describing the air attendants.
Gay was not the only term used to refer to homosexuals, but rather was one of many expletives. Grandes is believed to refer to corpulent women.
In the captain's parlance, a Grande Gay would likely refer to a portly homosexual fellow.
Air traffic controllers notified the FAA immediately after the broadcast.
