‘Speechless’ Sneak Peek: Dylan Reveals What She’d Love To Get This Christmas
Dylan wants a dog for Christmas!
In a sneak peek from this week’s Season 2, episode 10 of ABC’s “Speechless,” Dylan (Kyla Kenedy) tells her whole family that all she wants for the holidays is a dog.
Maya (Minnie Driver) backs Dylan’s request by saying that she, too, wants a dog. But Ray (Mason Cook) is quick to point out that their lease doesn’t allow them to have a dog.
When Jimmy (John Ross Bowie) realizes that he also wants a dog, Ray figures out a way that would allow them to have one. “Wait a second, there is one loophole,” Ray says. “We can get a service dog.”
While that’s a great idea, JJ (Micah Fowler) doesn’t want one. JJ acknowledges that there are people who need a service dog, but he makes it clear that he isn’t one of them. “It’s my call,” JJ says. “[And it’s a] ‘No.’”
Disappointed by JJ’s decision, Maya teases: “You are full of integrity, JJ. It’s a shame I no longer love you.”
Apparently, JJ’s decision causes a rift between him and Dylan. According to the synopsis for the episode, JJ and Dylan have their first fight, and the latter takes a vow of silence to better understand what it is like to be her brother.
Elsewhere in the episode, Jimmy drives Kenneth (Cedric Yarbrough) crazy by gaming a supermarket giveaway to score free Christmas turkeys. And Ray brokers a meeting between Maya (Minnie Driver) and his girlfriend’s mom Melanie only to discover that they have a history.
Melanie is played by guest star Sarah Chalke, who is known for playing the second Rebecca “Becky” Conner on the ABC sitcom “Roseanne.” Chalke also starred as Dr. Elliot Reid on the NBC-turned-ABC comedy series “Scrubs.” She also played Stella Zinman on the CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” and voices Beth Smith on Adult Swim’s animated science-fiction series “Rick and Morty.” The 41-year-old actress also had a recurring role in Season 3 of the ABC-turned-TBS sitcom “Cougar Town.”
“Speechless” Season 2, episode 10, titled “S-I-- SILENT N-I—NIGHT,” airs on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
