'Spider-Man' Cast Urges Fans To Avoid Spoilers; Fans Predict Tobey, Andrew Returns [Watch]
As the release of "Spider-Man: No Way Home" comes closer, the cast members are worried about the spoilers and fans are speculating about the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the upcoming installment.
Sony Pictures shared a 34-second clip on YouTube featuring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Jamie Foxx. In the video, the actors said, "when you see the movie, please don't spoil it for anyone," adding, "this movie is so cute."
At the end of the video, Foxx appears to tell the cameras “No spoilers," while Batalon replies, "But Jamie, you are a spoiler." Foxx looked amazed by Batalon's comments and walks towards him before asking, "what do you mean I'm a spoiler?"
In the description of the video, Sony Pictures urged fans to stop reading the comments, mute keywords, and stay off social media for the day in order to keep themselves away from the spoilers.
Fans took to the comments section and speculated the return of the actors who previously played Spider-Man.
One of the fans wrote, "In otherwords.. Don't tell everyone that Tobey and Andrew showed up," while another fan noted, "They only do these 'no spoilers' clips when something BIG is going to happen in the film."
"They said 'No spoilers.' But then spoiled Jamie as Electro, who links to the sinister six only meaning that Tobey and Andrew are DEFINITELY in nwh, as that is the spoiler they want kept shushed," a user noted.
While fans are predicting the return of the actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, Holland had multiple times hinted in his interviews that they are not going to appear in the movie but fans think that he is trying to bluff them.
"I'd love to share the screen with them one day," Holland said last week in an interview with AP Entertainment. "Unfortunately, I don't ever think we'll be able to wear the suits together, but it would be nice to make a film with both of them."
The highly anticipated movie is directed by Jon Watts and it will hit the theaters exclusively on Dec. 17.
