Marvel’s new Spider-Man movie is coming to cinemas this weekend, and it looks like it is going to do wonders for the struggling theater industry.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” premiered in Los Angeles on Monday, and experts in the industry believe the movie is set to break box office records.

According to estimates, the film is on track to make over $150 million in its first three days. Sony Pictures, the film’s distributor, predicts it will make around $130 million.

Tom Holland’s third venture as the emblematic superhero appears to be the first movie released during the pandemic to exceed $100 million in a mere weekend, as reported by Variety.

Senior analyst at Exhibitor Relations Jeff Bock claims that “one hundred million dollars is a done deal” for the movie, and that “one hundred fifty million may be within its grasp,” as reported by CNBC.

These numbers are incredibly optimistic for an industry that has been damaged by the limitations of the pandemic. “Spider-Man: Homecoming” brought in $117 million in its first three days, so to see the projections for “No Way Home” come close is a hopeful sign.

Following the premiere of the film, reviews have since rolled out and critics cannot stop raving about “No Way Home.”

"I don't know if we'll ever get a bigger 'Spider-Man' film than 'No Way Home,' " Business Insider’s Kirsten Acuna said in her review. “But if the fans show their love for this one, I'd love to see Sony try and top it.”
