In the realm of fiction, it’s usually a beautiful woman who partners with the protagonist to take down a hideous monster. In Gameloft's new update of “Spider-Man Unlimited,” which can be downloaded now from the official Marvel website, it seems the tables have turned.

The latest “Spider-Man Unlimited” update has Spider-Man teaming up -- with new Spider-Men, Spider-Women and even Monster Spider-Men -- to take down the beautiful and dangerous Silver Sable, the villainess hired by the Sinister Six to take down Spider-Man and his allies.

Silver Sable is an anti-heroine created by Tom DeFalco, Ron Frenz and Josef Rubinstein. In the past, the character has been both ally and enemy to everyone’s favorite webslinger, who usually does mercenary work for her home state of Symkaria. Recently, Silver Sable was killed off in the pages of “Amazing Spider-Man” comics, during the “Ends of the Earth” storyline, where she helped Spider-Man save the world from the Sinister Six but was tragically killed by Rhino.

So far, some new characters have been confirmed for the game update. Two of them are the aforementioned Monster Spider-Men, as Whatever a Spider Can reports. The monsters are Spider-X and Tarantula, who comic fans will remember seeing in the “Spider-Island” comic written by Dan Slott and drawn by Humberto Ramos.

The remaining new characters include Blood Spider, a new Exoskeleton Aranya Anya, Aracnido Jr. and a Mexican Spider-Man who was made for Cinco de Mayo. All of these new Spider characters can be earned through new "Spider-Man Unlimited” events that will be released in upcoming weeks.

But new characters aren’t the only additions to the latest update, as Gameloft has improved and changed the gameplay aspect as well. Players will now be ranked in tiers based on their highest-leveled team of Spider-Men and Spider-Women. Each tier rank rewards players with a number of Isotope-8 (ISO-8) plot points that can be used to purchase rare Spider-Men, along with free portals.

“Spider-Man Unlimited” is available now for iOS and Android devices. Those who have already purchased the game must simply update the title to get ahold of the new events and gameplay improvements.
