‘Star Wars Battlefront 2’ Alpha Gameplay Codes Already Being Emailed To PC Players
“Star Wars: Battlefront 2” won’t be out until Nov. 17, but it looks like some fans will be able to play the game’s alpha soon. It’s been discovered recently that several people have already received alpha codes for the PC version of the game.
Multiple people on the NeoGAF games forums are saying that they’ve already received alpha codes for “Battlefront 2” via email, as first reported by GameSpot. The code appears to be for the PC version of the game, with no word yet if alpha testing will also be conducted for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
The email states that the “Battlefront 2” alpha will start on June 29 (today), but there’s no information on when it will be closed down. The alpha version of the upcoming sci-fi shooter is said to have a file size of 7.3GB for the PC.
Electronic Arts and DICE haven’t officially announced the “Battlefront 2” alpha dates, but some hints have already been outed. “Star Wars: Battlefront” community manager Mat Everett posted guidelines for the “Battlefront 2” alpha last week; however, he quickly took down the post.
Everett’s post stated that the alpha would be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the PC. However, he didn’t include the start and end dates of the alpha gameplay. Everett later took to Twitter to clarify that it may not arrive on all gaming platforms after all.
The 2015 “Star Wars: Battlefront” also had an alpha gameplay, but was only made available for games on the PC. Back then, EA started taking applications on June 30, 2015, then officially kicked off the alpha gameplay on July 2, 2015.
With EA and DICE not announcing the alpha gameplay for “Battlefront 2” just yet, what we do know for certain is that the game’s beta is on its way. However, the “Battlefront 2” beta won’t be available until later this fall, closer to the game’s Nov. 17 release date.
The “Star Wars: Battlefront 2” beta gameplay will only be available for those who buy the $79.99 Elite Trooper Deluxe edition of the game or are subscribed to EA’s Origin Access.
In other “Battlefront 2” news, the game’s microtransactions may have already been revealed by the YouTube channel BattlefrontUpdates. Gamers will be able to progress through the game by buying crates with in-game credits. However, players also have the option to buy these crates with real money to progress faster.
Common, Rare and Uncommon are the three types of crates that will be available in the game. There’s also an Alpha Celebration Crate and an Alpha Daily Crate, but those might not be included in the final version of the game. “Battlefront 2” crates will contain Star Cards, credits and crafting parts.
BattlefrontUpdates also detailed “Battlefront 2’s” progression system. Like in EA and DICE’s “Battlefield 1,” players of “Battlefront 2” will be able to customize weapons and vehicles. There are also epic and common Star Cards.
