'Star Wars Battlefront II': Anakin Faces Darth Tyranus In New Teaser
Anakin Skywalker will be joining the fight in “Star Wars Battlefront II” next week. A teaser of the game shows the new playable character facing off against Darth Tyranus, who is another one of the more recently added characters in the game.
“Star Wars Battlefront II” has been slowly adding characters and sequences from the prequel trilogy. Anakin Skywalker is the new character from the prequel trilogy who will be introduced next week.
Electronic Arts has released a new teaser trailer showing Anakin fighting Count Dooku, which was Darth Tyranus’ old name before he turned to the dark side of the Force. The battle sequence in the video takes place at Geonosis, the planet where the first big battle of the Clone Wars was fought.
In the teaser trailer, Anakin Skywalker is accompanied by Clone Troopers, while Count Dooku is joined by battle droids. Readers should note that this is only a cinematic trailer, and the actual gameplay video may be released in the coming days.
The addition of new playable characters isn’t the only change in “Star Wars Battlefront II.” The developers have also been making changes to the appearance of the Clone Troopers.
One concern that some fans have about the changes to the Clone Troopers' appearance is that it will take away the authentic feel of the game. In a recent blog post, the developers have addressed this issue and promised the fans that they are striving to bring some variety to the armor, but at the same time, they are also trying to make sure that they retain the authenticity of the Clone Troopers.
As part of the new update of the game, the default appearance of the Clone Troopers will come with the "shinies" that many of the fans have been requesting. Players who want the planet-specific default appearance can get that too because they have been made free unlocks.
The Anakin Skywalker playable character will become available on Feb. 27. The light side version of the character will be featured in “Star Wars Battlefront II,” Animator Mattias Kirsten said in an interview with EA. There will, however, be some hints of the dark side in the character. His walk, for example, will be that of Darth Vader.
