There has been a lot of excitement for “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” which is the last movie in the new trilogy. However, cast member Richard E. Grant is prepared for a backlash from the fans just as there were problems with the last season of “Game of Thrones.”

“Game of Thrones” TV series is arguably the most popular show on the planet, but there was some controversy with the last season of the show because the fans didn’t like the way things ended. “Star Wars” is already facing some backlash over the creative choices in “The Last Jedi,” and now Grant has suggested that the passionate fans base may have problems with the upcoming film as well.

In an interview with io9, Grant said that he understands that the fans are “incredibly passionate and possessive” about the “Star Wars” movies. The actor too has been a fan of the franchise, but he explained that it will be impossible to please all the sections of the audience.

Comparing “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” to “Game of Thrones” TV series, Grant said that the film could suffer from the same “syndrome” as the TV series. However, he hopes that a majority of the audience will feel that their wishes are fulfilled.

Speaking about making the movie, director JJ Abrams confirmed during a press tour in Japan that he faced challenges, IGN reported. The director said that the controversial sequel “The Last Jedi” ended up helping him make the last movie “more satisfying” than he originally expected.

As the fans prepare to enjoy the last movie in the sequel trilogy, Kathleen Kennedy and the others at Lucafilm are busy preparing for the future. In an interview with Los Angeles Times, Kennedy pointed out that they have spent the last six years wrapping up the Skywalker saga, and they are now focusing on “something new and different.”

“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” will be released on Dec. 20.
