'Star Wars: Episode 9': First Order's Deadly New Ship Revealed

Keeping up with the tradition of introducing new weapons, ships and other elements to the story, “Star Wars: Episode 9” will be introducing a brand new ship of the First Order. The new TIE fighter has triangular wings, and it is a little different from the one Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) used in the trailer.

The name of the new ship has been revealed to be as the TIE Dagger, Screen Rant reported. The first look pictures of the new ship have been released in “The Visual Dictionary” tie-in book on the film.

The new ship looks very similar to the TIE Interceptor, which was seen in the original trilogy. Kylo Ren’s ship also appears to be an upgraded version of the old Interceptor. The big difference in the Dagger is the triangular design of the wings that look like two pointed daggers on either side facing forward.

The TIE Dagger’s design may help the ship take on the fast enemy fighters like the X-Wings and the A-Wings. More details about the capabilities of the new ship may be revealed in the massive space battles that are expected in “Star Wars: Episode 9.”

The trailer of the film has already teased Kylo Ren getting in the cockpit of a TIE fighter to try and kill Rey (Daisy Ridley). According to Screen Rant, the new Supreme Leader of the First Order may get to speak to his grandfather’s mangled helmet once again in the upcoming film. Fans of the franchise will remember that Darth Vader was one of the best fighter pilots in the galaxy.

It remains to be seen if Darth Vader will be back in some way in the next film. The Sith Lord Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) will return one last time, Screen Rant reported. It isn’t clear if Darth Sidious managed to survive after that fall in the second Death Star or if he will return in some other way to cheat death in “Star Wars: Episode 9.”
