'Star Wars: Episode 9' Leaks: Flashback Scene That Can Change Everything
Details about a major flashback scene in “Star Wars: Episode 9” have surfaced online. According to sources who are familiar with the developments of the film, this flashback scene will change the perspective of the audience about some of the past events in the Skywalker saga.
The following article contains spoilers of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.”
There will be a flashback scene involving Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) in the upcoming film, Making Star Wars reported. According to sources, the flashback sequences will be about a conversation between the two siblings, and this conversation “plays with our perspective” on the events in the trilogy.
The flashback sequence appears to be set just after the events in “Return of the Jedi.” Fans of the franchise know that while Luke continued to focus on being a Jedi and trained the next generation, his sister Leia chose not to train with the Force and instead became a general in the Resistance.
The time period of “Return of the Jedi” is significant, and Lucasfilm has recreated the famous escape of Luke and Leia from Jabba the Hutt in a new animation video for kids that has been teased on Twitter. With the two siblings working together in the upcoming film, there will be more content that can used to make animation videos for the kids in the future.
According to the leak, Leia and Luke saw a vision in which Leia using the Force would lead to some “problematic future.” However, they were both apparently wrong, just as the Jedi master was wrong in attempting to kill his nephew after seeing his future.
One consequences of the path Leia and Luke took after the fall of the Empire created the circumstances for Ben Solo (Adam Driver) to become Kylo Ren. When Luke attempted to kill his nephew, the young man didn’t have the support of his parents. His father was out somewhere in the galaxy trying to make a living and his mother was in the Resistance, fighting the First Order. Are the parents to blame for the way their son turned out?
As to the question of who will play Princess Leia in the flashback, Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd will reportedly play this role, with the help of some CGI modification in the post production. Hamill will be reprising his role as Luke, and here too computer graphics will be used to make him look younger on screen.
Meanwhile, Making Star Wars has also shared a picture that reveals the designs of the Knights of Ren costumes and weapons. The mysterious group is expected to play a big role in “Star Wars: Episode 9.”
