'Star Wars: Episode 9' Leaks: Opening Scene After The Crawl Revealed
New leaks about “Star Wars: Episode 9” reveal the first scene of the movie after the opening crawl. All the films from the franchise begin with a description about recent events to set the stage, and this practice will continue. After the opening crawl, the audience will get to see an exciting action sequence.
The following article contains spoilers from “Star Wars: Episode 9.”
There won’t be a space battle in the opening scene of the upcoming film. In order to change things up, JJ Abrams has decided to take the camera and zoom into a jungle planet from space for a flash back scene, Making Star Wars reported. The action sequence shows two people practicing their lightsaber skills.
The two people who are practicing cover their faces with white helmets with visors. The shocking reveal is that they are Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and his sister Leia (Carrie Fisher). This is a flash back sequence that takes place right after “Return of the Jedi,” and both the characters are younger.
Leia’s role in “Star Wars: Episode 9” is reportedly substantial, even though Fisher couldn’t film any scenes. The passing of the actress did not result in her role getting diminished because the story reportedly demanded Leia’s presence.
A leaked report by JediPaxis also confirms the flash back sequence. Leia started to train to be a Jedi, but she stopped after she became pregnant with Ben Solo.
The start of the film could mirror the ending as well, according to Making Star Wars. Just as Luke and Leia trained with lighsabers in the past, the ending could be with a scene of Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) training together. The relationship of the two characters has been at the center of the sequel trilogy.
“Star Wars: Episode 9” will be released on Dec. 20.
