“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” will be introducing a new character called Zorri Bliss (Keri Russell), but the character may have played a big role in past events. According to a new theory about the upcoming film, Russell’s character is connected to Rey’s (Daisy Ridley) past.

The following article contains spoilers for “Star Wars: Episode 9.”

Fans of the franchise who have been following the spoilers of the upcoming film will know that Zorri is someone that the heroes will meet on the ice planet Kijimi. Russell’s character will help the heroes escape the planet. But will the character’s role be limited to this?

According to a theory by Making Star Wars and Bespinbulletin, Zorri may have a connection to Rey’s past. The upcoming film is expected to reveal more details about who Ridley’s character is, and Zorri may be the one who brought her to Jakku.

A picture of one of the ships in JJ Abrams film resembles the one from “The Force Awakens.” The ship that brought Rey to Jakku may belong to Zorri.

Zorri will be seen working with the heroes in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” but she may have worked with the First Order before. The character may have switched sides after learning that the evil faction wanted to harm an innocent girl. She may have picked up Rey and left her in Jakku in order to save her.

According to the official character description of Zorri, she is a “rogue,” Screen Rant reported. She and people like her live in the outermost areas in the galaxy in order to avoid the ongoing war. The scoundrels and the bounty hunters of the galaxy don’t take sides in a war, and they take action only when it benefits them.

Zorri’s character description fits perfectly into the theory about her connection to Rey. Will Russell’s character shed some light on the background of the young Jedi in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”?
