Steph Curry’s Wife Ayesha Curry Sets Record Straight Regarding $50K Braids Rumor
Stephen Curry’s wife Ayesha Curry has debunked the rumor that she spent a little too much on her braids during her tropical getaway with her husband early this month. The wife of the Golden State Warriors star player insists that she’s not one to spend lavishly on getting her hair done and that the rumor that she spent $50,000 for a hairstyle is outright ridiculous.
Addressing a sketchy report made by mtonews.com on July 2, Ayesha told Us Weekly, “That is like the most fake story I have ever read.” She added that she doesn’t have a clue as to who came up with such a story or where this bit came from.
The controversial story claimed that the 28-year-old Canadian-American’s weave was expensive because the braids were collected from an Indian woman and were dyed before getting attached to Ayesha’s head. Mtonews.com even stated that this is becoming a trend among Hollywood celebs, and Ayesha followed it after Steph signed a new $200 million contract.

Ayesha has since taken to social media to clarify that she did not spend $50,000 for her plaits and instead she paid $150 to get the hairstyle done. Clarifying the hair issue further, the mother-of-two says in her latest interview, “The vacation inspired the braids. I just wanted to be able to jump in the water and have to think twice.”
The Food Network show host also shared her hairstyling pattern. “I change my hair every two weeks. It’s frustrating for the people that do my hair … but my mom is a hair stylist so I grew up in the salon. It’s just kind of what I do,” she said.

Despite being very meticulous when it comes to her looks, Ayesha admits that her husband doesn’t really mind. “I asked him the other day, ‘Which option do you like best?’ and he’s like, ‘Honestly, there’s nothing you could do that I wouldn’t like.’ I was like, that’s sweet … but annoying because I really wanted to know which decision to make,” she shared.
Stephen and Ayesha tied the knot in 2011. They are parents to daughters Riley, 5, and Ryan Carson, 2.
