Stephen Curry will likely end his career with the Golden State Warriors, but if he ever considers a move to another ballclub before retirement, there's only one non-Warriors team he would be open to playing for.

The 34-year-old guard revealed Thursday that the only team besides the Warriors that he would want to play for is the Charlotte Hornets.

The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, who played high school basketball at Charlotte Christian School and whose father Dell played 10 seasons with the Hornets, touched on the possibility during a speech he gave after he was handed the key to the city of Charlotte in North Carolina.

"I've always said I wanted to finish my career out in Golden State because of how much it means to me, and the experiences and teammates and the journey that we've been on," Curry said in a video shared by WCNC.

"Everybody asks me, 'You wanna play one year for the Hornets and come back?' ... I am not breaking any news right now, I'm not making any promises. All I would say is if there was a team that I did want to play for that was not named the Warriors, that would be it," he added.

It should be noted that this statement from Curry does not mean a move to the Hornets is imminent. The earliest time that could happen would be by the 2025-26 season.

Curry will only be entering the first year of his four-year, $215 million contract with the Warriors. Once that deal is done, the eight-time NBA All-Star will be 38 years old.

But being a player who owns a near-perfect outside shooting touch, there is a chance Curry may still be around, dazzling NBA fans with his basketball wizardry.

In the meantime, the Warriors are fresh from winning the 2021-22 NBA title, and Curry and his fellow Dubs Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins are preparing to possibly make it back-to-back NBA title wins, NBC Sports reported.
