Stepmother Beats Child To Death With Iron Rod For Eating Too Slowly

A 7-year-old girl from Shandong Province, China, was beaten to death by her stepmother for eating too slowly. According to local media, the girl suffered severe bruises from the beating.

The child, identified as Gou Mou, was rushed to a hospital by her father where she was declared dead. According to China Press, Gou was having lunch with her family when her stepmother threatened her that if she ate too slowly she will hit her.

The woman then took the girl to a bedroom and closed the door before beating the child with an iron rod. Guo’s father, who was outside the bedroom, was too afraid to intervene. Local media said the woman had also previously physically abused her husband.

When Gou's father finally entered the room he saw his daughter severely injured. He fought with his wife and rushed the girl to the hospital where doctors said her condition was critical. She was declared dead within ten minutes.

Gou's birth parents filed for divorce when she was 2 months old. Her father then remarried as he thought his daughter was in need of a mother.

Police took the stepmother into custody and was investigating the incident.
