'Steppin' Into The Holiday' Lifetime Movie Premiere: Cast, Trailer, Synopsis
The Lifetime Christmas movies continue with the premiere of "Steppin' Into the Holiday," starring Mario Lopez and Jana Kramer, on Friday night.
The film is set to be one of the biggest treats of the holiday season for Lifetime fans, as it brings together two familiar faces from the network's holiday fare together for the first time. While Lopez is best known to this day for his breakout role on "Saved By the Bell," he has also starred in several Lifetime holiday films over the years, including "A Very Merry Toy Store," "Feliz NaviDAD" and "Holiday in Santa Fe."
Kramer, of course, is best known for her music and her breakout role as Alex Dupre on "One Tree Hill," but is also a famous face on Lifetime. Her previous titles have included "Christmas in Mississippi," "Christmas in Louisiana," "A Welcome Home Christmas," "Soccer Mom Madam" and "The Holiday Fix-Up."
Lopez and Kramer aren't the only stars in the film though of course, and they have a large supporting cast consisting of Cheri Oteri ("Christmas in Conway"), Mario Cantone ("Sex and the City"), Courtney Lopez ("I Love Us"), Carla Jiminez ("The Mick") and Enzo Rodriguez ("Side Hustle").
So what can fans expect from the film? According to a synopsis, dance and holiday romance will both be taking center stage.
"Former Broadway star Billy Holiday (Lopez) returns to his hometown for Christmas after being abruptly fired as the host-producer-judge of the hit TV series 'Celebrity Dance Off,'" the synopsis reads. "While there, he encounters Rae (Kramer), the charismatic owner of the local dance studio, where Billy's 12-year-old nephew is her standout student."
Rae is trying to find a way to raise money to take her students on a special trip, and Billy quickly hops in to help her out.
"This Christmas, Rae is planning a dance recital fundraiser with the goal of taking her students to see a Broadway show in New York City," the synopsis continues. "Billy volunteers to help Rae with the recital by reviving the town's traditional Christmas Eve show, which was once a showcase for local talent."
As the two work together and realize their individual strengths are a big asset, they also soon realize they work well together in more ways than one.
"With Billy's knack for producing and Rae's knowledge of all things local, their collaboration clicks and romantic sparks start flying!" the synopsis concludes.
"Steppin' Into the Holiday" airs Friday at 8 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
