Steven Assanti, ‘My 600-Lb Life’ Subject, Posts Picture Update Amid Weight Loss Struggle
Steven Assanti, the subject of “My 600-Lb Life,” took to Facebook after the second part of his episode on the TLC station aired Wednesday. But instead of giving an update about how much weight he lost, he shared a picture of himself with Luke Johnson, who is one of the producers on the unscripted series.
While Johnson smiled for the picture, Assanti made a surprised face. “Me & My Producer Minion Homie G Slice,” he captioned the photo Wednesday. Within an hour of it being shared, the image was liked dozens of times by Assanti’s followers.

Cynthia Wells, who appeared on an earlier episode of “My 600-Lb Life,” wrote on the post that she and the producer had a “love hate relationship.”
Her post prompted Johnson to write back, “You know I can parking lot dance tho.” To which she responded, “Don't make me post the video.”
Assanti didn’t update fans about his progress on losing weight.
In the first episode, Assanti’s father, Steven Sr., explained that his son hid pizza boxes in his closet. He tried everything to help his son, but everyone turned them away.
“I called every doctor in the state of Roode Island, but no one can help,” he told TLC.
Dr. Nowzardan, the Houston bariatric surgeon who treats all the patients on “My 600-Lb Life,” was anxious about Assanti’s arrival. “Steven Assanti is being transported to my care in Houston… and I’m not sure what to expect,” he said. “From what I understand, he suffers from severe psychological issues that make it problematic to treat him.”
During his episodes, viewers watched as Assanti manipulated family, friends and doctors so he could feed his pill and food addictions.
In the end, Assanti did not lose more than 75 pounds and did not receive weight loss surgery from Dr. Now.
Don’t miss “My 600-Lb Life” when it airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. EDT on TLC.
