Aerosmith's front man Steven Tyler quit but apparently has not notified the band, according to a report.

Steven quit as far as I can tell, the band's guitarist Joe Perry told the Las Vegas Sun, admitting that Tyler has not returned phone calls.

I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don't know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don't know, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

Perry was referring to a recent interview Tyler gave to British Classic Rock Magazine where he hinted plans for a solo career.

I don't know what I'm doing yet, but it's definitely going to be something Steven Tyler: working on the brand of myself - Brand Tyler, the front man said, according to the magazine.

The news come amid reported tension in the band after Tyler fell off the stage in a concert in South Dakota and several concerts were canceled afterwards.
