Strip Club Manager Who Took Her Toddler Son To Work Sparks Debate After Video Goes Viral [Watch]
A young mother who works as a strip club manager has shared a video online about bringing her toddler son to her work. The video received an outpouring of support and has sparked debates about the childcare choices available for working parents in the country.
The video that was posted by @whatsuarez on TikTok has several snippets showing her happy child playing, walking around and being cared for by other employees at her workplace. It has fetched more than one million views and nearly 207,000 likes, according to Washington News Today.
While most of the viewers came in support of the young working mother, some were critical about the unusual childcare arrangement. "When people get offended that your son is a strip club baby, but he loves it and is loved," the mother captioned her video.
In a follow-up video, the woman sarcastically addressed her critics saying: "Hey guys, it's the horrible strip club mom." She said she used to dance at the club before she had the baby and now she works as a manager at the office.
The TikToker then described how well the child was looked after while he was brought to her work. She pointed at two doors on either side of her office and said she always kept them locked to keep him away from the customers. After detailing how her son was always kept away from the customers and where the alcohol was served, she reminded her viewers that "Strippers are mothers. And they love."
Many supportive viewers believed that the coworkers will keep the child safe and the experience will teach the child to respect women.
"He has a group of ladies who adore him and look out for him. It takes a community. He will grow up with respect for woman [sic] and their bodies," a viewer commented. "They really do need more 24/7 daycares though for people who work the nightshift," another one said.
Meanwhile, few people opined that no matter what, a kid should never be brought to a strip club even if their parent works there. To such comments, a few replied saying not all mothers are lucky enough to get trustworthy childcare while they go to work.
According to research, childcare costs around $11,000 per year, and families pay more for childcare in the United States than the cost of public college in 33 states.
