‘Suits’ Season 6: EP Aaron Korsh Responds To Rumors Meghan Markle Is Leaving USA Network Series
No one from Patrick J. Adams (Mike Ross), Gabriel Macht (Harvey Specter), Rick Hoffman (Louis Litt), Sarah Rafferty (Donna Paulsen) and Meghan Markle (Rachel Zane) is leaving “Suits” anytime soon.
After news broke that Markle is dating Prince Harry, rumors that the actress is ready to quit the USA Network series began to surface online. But in a recent interview with TVLine, “Suits” creator Aaron Korsh said that no one from the remaining five series regulars are exiting the series in the near future and “certainly not” in Season 6’s final six episodes.
Korsh, however, added that no one is 100 percent sure about the future. “You never know what the future will hold. It’s a long run,” Korsh said. “I never would have guessed that Jessica [Pearson] (Gina Torres) would have left.”
Fans said goodbye to Jessica in the show’s Season 6 summer finale that aired in September. In the episode, Jessica realized that she doesn’t want to be a corporate lawyer anymore, so she stepped down as a name partner of Pearson Specter Litt and decided to go with her lover, Jeff Malone (D.B. Woodside), to Chicago.
This isn’t the first time Korsh has dismissed rumors that a series regular is leaving the show this year. In October, Korsh took to Twitter to deny speculations that Macht won’t be part of Season 7, which the network had already ordered in August.
Season 6’s remaining six episodes will air every Wednesday, starting on Jan. 25, at 10 p.m. EST on USA Network. In an interview with Deadline in September, Korsh said that events in Season 6, episode 11 are something that fans “would expect [but] also, a little surprising.”
Korsh explained that Harvey and Louis will both behave in a manner fans would expect them to. They, however, will also “have little dashes of things” that the audience wouldn’t see coming.
