‘Suits’ Season 6 Spoilers: Mike Turns Down Harvey’s Job Offer In Episode 11 Sneak Peek

It looks like Mike (Patrick J. Adams) won’t be returning to Pearson Specter Litt anytime soon. In a sneak peek from this week’s Season 6, episode 11 of “Suits,” Mike (Patrick J. Adams) pays Harvey (Gabriel Macht) a visit to personally tell him that he isn’t taking his offer to work as a consultant for the firm.

“When I was on trial I said that I was given a gift and I threw it away. Well, I’m not just trying to [lie to] the jury. I meant that,” Mike explains of his decision. “As easy as it would be for me to just come back and pick up right where we left off, I can’t look myself in the mirror if all I’m doing is going back to corporate law.”

Disappointed by Mike’s decision, Harvey tries to convince his former associate to rethink his choice, but it was to no avail. “Jessica (Gina Torres) left last night. I just need somebody I can trust until we figure things out,” Harvey tells Mike, asking him to return to the firm even just for a month. “You stood in front of me once begging me to hire you, and I did. And now I’m asking you to do the same thing, and you’re telling me, to go screw myself.”

“I’m sorry. I can’t,” Mike replies before leaving Harvey’s place.

In a recent interview with E! News, Adams gave his two cents about Mike’s decision to turn down Harvey’s job offer. “I think he’s really soul-searching, you know?” Adams said of his character. “He’s taking a difficult road. Obviously, the easiest thing for him to do would be to stand by his friend Harvey and for them to sort of do what they’ve always done, which is go at it as this sort of fearsome twosome. … [But after his stay in prison, Mike is now] adamant that he do something different with his life.”

According to TV Guide, Mike is actually going to find a job outside of Pearson Specter Litt. This work, however, is only going to be temporary, as his prison history will be unburied and will affect his employment.

While it’s unclear what Mike’s next step will be following his temporary respite, promo photos for the back six episodes of the season seem to suggest that Mike will eventually accept Harvey’s job offer.

“Suits” Season 6, episode 11, titled “She’s Gone,” airs on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 10 p.m. EST on USA Network. Watch the sneak peek below:
