‘Suits’ Season 7, Episode 11 Synopsis: What Will Happen In Midseason Premiere?

Someone from the Pearson Specter Litt’s past returns in the next episode of “Suits.”

According to the synopsis for Season 7, episode 11 of the USA Network, Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and Louis (Rick Hoffman) fight to protect the future of the firm from its past. Meanwhile, Alex (Dulé Hill) worries Mike’s (Patrick J. Adams) instincts could risk a client relationship. And Donna (Sarah Rafferty) and Harvey delve into the aftermath of their kiss.

In an interview with Deadline last September, series creator Aaron Korsh revealed that the back six episodes of the season will see the introduction of a “new character that our people within our show know but fans haven’t met before. “It’s an old name partner [of the firm], one of Gordon, Schmidt and VanDyke, I just won’t tell you which one it is,” the exec producer teased.

In trailer teasing the rest of the season, Donna tells Rachel (Meghan Markle) that she kissed Harvey. After seeing Rachel’s surprised reaction, Donna quickly defends what she did, saying, “I had to know [if Harvey’s really the one].” Donna also tells Louis about the kiss, and he tells her that what she did was “crossing the line.”

“Obviously, there’s going to be aftermath,” Korsh told TVLine last September when asked what will happen next after the kiss between Donna and Harvey. “Think about the circumstances under which Donna did that. Think about Harvey’s current situation. Whether you’re rooting for Harvey and Donna or not, it’s still a bold maneuver to do that to someone else while they’re in a relationship, and especially given Harvey’s feelings on what it is to be faithful to another person. All I can say is it’s absolutely going to have its ramifications, and we’ll play that out over the back six [episodes] and, hopefully [that] sets us up for a nice run in Season 8.”

The show’s Season 8 renewal was announced last month. According to USA Network, Korsh is set to return for the new season as well as original cast members Macht, Hoffman, and Rafferty. With Adams and Markle exiting the series after Season 7, Hill was promoted to series regular for the next season. “Grey’s Anatomy” alum Katherine Heigl was also cast for Season 8 in the series regular role of Samantha Wheeler, a new partner at Person Specter Litt.

“Suits” Season 7, episode 11, titled “Hard Truths,” airs on Wednesday, March 28 at 9 p.m. EDT on USA Network.
