SunPower to build solar power system in NJ financed by PSE&G
SunPower Corporation announced on Thursday a deal with Certified Steel Company and Nexus Properties to build a 1.2 megawatt solar power system in a Certified Steel facility in New Jersey.
The system will generate the equivalent of nearly all the electricity required by the facility located in Hamilton, New Jersey. The project was scheduled for completion in July, SunPower said Thursday.
The installation is the largest financed by the Public Service Electric and Gas solar loan program.
Moving forward, we envision similar programs that foster private investment in solar power projects and help the state of New Jersey reach its renewable energy goals, said Andrea Sussman, managing member of Nexus Properties, the developer for the project.
