‘Supergirl’ Season 2 Spoilers: Kara Meets Mon-El’s Parents In Episode 16 Trailer
Will Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Mon-El (Chris Wood) stay together when she discovers his real identity?
The trailer for Season 2, episode 16 of “Supergirl,” reveals that Mon-El is actually the Prince of Daxam, and his parents, played by Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo, arrive on Earth to seemingly take him with them.
As seen in the preview clip, Kara, in her complete Supergirl costume, meets Mon-El’s parents over what appears to be a dinner. Because the awkward family reunion seems to be the moment when Kara finally learns about Mon-El’s secret, the Girl of Steel doesn’t wait that long to confront her Daxamite boyfriend for not being honest with her. “This changes everything,” a disappointed Kara tells Mon-El.
During a recent press event, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed that the revelation of Mon-El’s real identity “causes some problems” to the couple.
“I think what’s interesting about it is, he doesn’t quite get it’s the cover up not the crime, which I think is really the issue,” TV Guide quoted Kreisberg as saying. “I think about Kara sometimes in terms of Barack Obama. Like, he had to be the best version of himself all the time for a variety of reasons. You’ve often read about that or people have talked about it like, he could never take the bait, he always had to be the most mature and the most reasonable and the most sensible and the most forgiving because that was what history and the world was asking of him. And I feel like that for Kara too … because she’s Supergirl she has to be the best.”
While dealing with his issues with Mon-El, Kara also faces an attack by the Music Meister (Darren Criss), who is seen handcuffed and being escorted by DEO agents in the preview clip.
Elsewhere in the episode, according to the synopsis, Lyra (Tamzin Merchant) gets Winn (Jeremy Jordan) in trouble with the law. Maggie (Floriana Lima) attempts to help the IT whiz, but old loyalties get in the way.
“Supergirl” Season 2, episode 16, titled “Star-Crossed,” airs on March 20 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
