‘Supergirl’ Season 2 Spoilers: ‘Wonder Woman’ Actress Lynda Carter Confirms Her Return To The CW Series
Lynda Carter is returning in Season 2 of “Supergirl.”
Carter revealed on Facebook that she’s currently shooting the CW series in Vancouver. The original “Wonder Woman” actress revealed the exciting news as she thanked her husband, Robert A. Altman, for sending her flowers for Valentine’s Day.
While Carter didn’t spill any additional details about her “Supergirl” return, Melissa Benoist — who plays the title role on the TV series — previously revealed that Carter is going to reprise her role as President Olivia Marsdin in multiple episodes of the current season.
“As far as I know — and I hope I don’t get in trouble for saying this — but she was signed on for more [episodes], and I know she wanted to [return],” Benoist said of Carter during a Q&A with fans on The Huffington Post’s “Build Series” last month. “She’s so awesome, by the way. She is so wonderful.”
“I think it’s a really interesting storyline, and it’s pretty cool that it’s a woman president,” Benoist added of Carter’s arc and character on the DC Comics TV show.
Carter made her debut as the president in Season 2, episode 3, titled “Welcome to Earth.” In the installment, the president visited National City to sign her alien amnesty act, which allows aliens on Earth to come out of the shadows and live as full citizens. But the president’s true motive for signing the act became unclear when it was revealed at the end of the episode that the head of state herself is also an alien.
In a Facebook Live Q&A hours before the airing of her debut episode, Carter said that she had a great time shooting her first “Supergirl” episode. “I think it was the whole experience,” Carter said when asked if she had a favorite scene from the episode. “It’s like asking a singer what their favorite note is. I think it was the embodiment of the character living inside the skin of something that you give life to.”
“Supergirl’s” next episode (Season 2, episode 13) airs on Monday, Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
