‘Supernatural’ Season 12 Spoilers: Will Jeffery Dean Morgan’s Negan In ‘Walking Dead’ Affect His Guest Role In CW series?
Jeffery Dean Morgan is busy these days playing TV’s most evil character on AMC series “The Walking Dead.” He plays Negan, a bat-yielding psychopath who loves to kill when Lucille is feeling thirsty. However, many “Supernatural” fans are concerned that Morgan’s significant role in the post-apocalypse show would hamper his chances of appearing on their favorite CW series.
Morgan, as many “Supernatural” fans know, plays Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam’s (Jared Padalecki) father John Winchester.
The good news is that Morgan’s stint with Rick and company won’t affect his availability to play papa Winchester, should the need arise.
“Supernatural” executive producer Andrew Dabb told TVLine that the talented actor’s new role won’t affect his appearance on the supernatural series. “I don’t really worry about that because by the time he comes back, I’m sure [‘Supernatural’] will have been on for 20 seasons at that point, and ‘The Walking Dead will be long over,” he joked. “Jeffrey [Dean Morgan]’s an amazing actor … He plays such a great bad guy. But at the same time … if you give him really good material, he can go back to being someone we know and love and someone we can empathize with.”
“I have full faith in him as an actor,” Dabb later added, “and I’m excited to see [him return as John] if it ever comes to pass.”
Although Dabb didn’t specify when John would appear next on the CW show, it is at least comforting to know that Negan won’t be killing off this character anytime soon.
In other news, Ackles welcomed twins with his wife Danneel Harris Ackles on Saturday night. They named them Zeppelin Bram and Arrow Rhodes. Padalecki is also going to become a father soon. He and wife Genevieve are expecting baby number three in March.
“Supernatural” Season 12 airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
