"Supernatural" actor Jensen Ackles has revealed that he will be driving home his character Dean Winchester’s beloved Impala, affectionately called "Baby," when the show finally wraps.
Ackles said that the Impala had been on his radar since he began filming "Supernatural" in 2005.
"As far as taking something on the final day, I will definitely be taking something that I've had my eye on since day one of Supernatural," he told Digital Spy. "But it's okay, I'm not stealing it. I got permission.
"I begged and begged and pleaded for years, but I finally got it this year," Ackles continued. "They're going to let me drive home the Impala."
Dean's black 1967 Chevrolet Impala has been an integral part of the TV series since the first season premiered in 2005. An episode in "Supernatural" Season 11 titled "Baby" even showed Dean and his brother Sam’s (Jared Padelecki) fight against demons and monsters from the Impala’s perspective.
Throughout the series' run, Dean takes care of the Impala as if it's his own flesh and blood, and it's common to see him tenderly stroking the car and blowing kisses to it.
Production for the CW show is currently underway in Vancouver, Canada, and one of the first images from the set was of Baby. The photo, which was shared by "Supernatural" executive producer Jim Michaels, showed the Impala parked in the show's indoor set.
As for what Padalecki plans to take home, the actor revealed that he already has a few mementos from the show.
"I have a few trinkets here and there. But I'll never admit to it," he said. "I have tons of s--t! I have a few trinkets that will stay with me forever that won't be missed by the production."
Padalecki explained that there were some props on "Supernatural" that he wanted to take as a souvenir, but they were too large.
"I was going to steal the Men of Letter's bunker, but it wouldn't fit in my car sadly," he explained. "But I have a few trinkets here and there that I hope to hold dear forever and ever."
Production of the show was postponed back in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. "Supernatural" Season 15, episode 13 was the last one to air on March 23.
"Supernatural" returns Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW with the first of the final seven episodes, titled "Last Holiday." The 15th and final season of "Supernatural" will conclude on Nov. 19.
