‘Superstore’ Season 3 Spoilers: Did Amy, Jonah Address Their Kiss In Premiere?

“Superstore” Season 3 premiere on NBC on Thursday night with the Cloud 9 staff gearing up for the reopening of the store following the tornado in the Season 2 finale.

Cloud 9 head, Glenn (Mark McKinney), is nowhere near ready to open the doors of the store to the public. After all, he mistakenly read the instructions from Corporate about bringing everyone back a week earlier to prepare for the big re-opening day. It’s been two months since the tornado hit, and the employees only have four hours left before they return to their normal operations.

While everyone is struggling to pack the shelves with items, update the prices and clean the entire store, Amy (America Ferrera) and Jonah (Ben Feldman) did everything they could to avoid each other. Before eventually bumping into each other, Jonah told Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom) and Mateo (Nico Santos) that his apartment building was destroyed by the tornado, and he has been living in a trailer.

Cheyenne and Mateo wanted to help Jonah out, but did not know exactly what they can do. Initially, it would have been possible for Jonah to move in with Amy, but she also moved in with her ex, Adam (Ryan Gaul), in the two months that they did not work at Cloud 9.

Meanwhile, Amy and Jonah were asked to wear a “Despicable Me” minion costume, and they finally had some time to themselves. Amy told Jonah that she’s filing for divorce from Adam, but the two decided to not make any mentions of their kiss. In a shocking turn of events, Amy joked about making out with Jonah, but he did not immediately understand what she meant. This resulted in another awkward encounter between the two characters.

Elsewhere in the episode, Mateo is surprised to know that Jeff (Michael Bunin) has gotten back together with his ex-boyfriend. In the finale, he left a voicemail in Jeff’s phone and told him how much he loves him.

“America’s Got Talent” judge Howie Mandel also made an appearance in “Superstore” Season 3, episode 1 as the special guest at the Cloud 9 re-opening ceremony.
