It looks like Meghan Markle broke royal protocol, again. While it's not surprising that the Duchess broke a royal rule, it is surprising how she did it -- by accident.

On the last day of her royal tour to Africa with Prince Harry, Meghan encountered artist and entrepreneur Nikiwe Dlova, the founder of Own Ur Crown, a South Africa-based platform. During their brief meeting, Dlova showed the Duchess an Instagram filter she'd created and caught her reaction on video.

In the video, Meghan looks at the screen and seems delightfully shocked when a series of headdresses begin to appear on her head.

"Lastly she owned her crown with our Instagram filter we collaborated on with @will.hurt and @maxwellmutanda," Own Ur Crown captioned the since-deleted video. "She loved It!! When she looked away she realized it was the same headpiece I was holding!"

Innocent enough, right? Apparently not. According to Express, this simple action caused the former "Suits" actress to "inadvertently" break royal protocol because selfies are frowned upon by the immediate members of the Royal Family.

The publication goes on to explain that royal fans are discouraged from taking selfies with the royals as well. Prior to a royal visit to Canada in 2016, Jennifer Gehmair, of Canada’s Yukon region Government’s tourism department, echoed that same sentiment.

"Turning your back to the Duke and Duchess and taking a selfie is discouraged if at all possible," she said at the time. "I know it’s fun to do, but they much would rather see your face."

This wouldn't be the first time Meghan has broken royal protocol. Shortly after her maternity leave, the mother of 5-month-old Archie supposedly broke the rules when she channeled her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

As previously reported, Grant Harrold, former butler to Prince Charles, says Meghan is "showing that the British royal family is a modern 21st-century family" and is "carrying on Diana's tradition" by hugging children and adults.
