Suzanne Somers 'Startled' After Learning About Bob Saget's Death: 'My Jaw Was Ajar'

Suzanne Somers opened up about her friendship with Bob Saget.

Somers and Saget had been friends for years because they worked "practically side by side." She starred in the 1990s sitcom "Step By Step" while Saget filmed "Full House" in a studio next door on the Warner Bros. lot. The former admitted that she was shocked after learning that the latter had already passed away.

"I was kind of startled. Who would think when you’re on Australian TV [you'd] get this alert news about Bob Saget? My jaw was ajar — 'Are you kidding?'" she told Page Six.

Saget was found dead in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida. The "Full House" star was on tour and had just performed in Jacksonville before he passed away.

Recalling their time together, Somers said it was "fun."

"It was such a fun time because we all would meet at the commissary for lunch, and it was this ongoing party," Somers shared before adding that they would joke about their shows.

"On 'Step By Step' year one, [my character] had a mother, a sister and a pig. Then by year two, I had no mother, no sister and no pig. And we would never talk about it [on the show]," she said.

Somers also shared her encounter with Hollywood legend Betty White, who recently passed away. According to her, they were never close.

"We were green-room friends," Somers said of White when asked if she had known the iconic actress. "If she was on ‘The Tonight Show.'"

"She was f--king funny," she said of the "Golden Girls" actress.

White passed away three weeks before her centenary birthday. There were rumors that her death had something to do with the COVID-19 booster, which her agent and long-time friend Jeff Witjas denied.

"People are saying her death was related to getting a booster shot three days earlier, but that is not true. She died of natural causes," he was quoted by Page Six as saying. "Her death should not be politicized — that is not the life she lived."

White's death certificate revealed that she died of a cerebrovascular accident caused by a stroke. She suffered a stroke about a week before she passed away.
