The recruitment song from the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS) was played on the Mix Megapol radio station Friday morning.

The radio station played songs like Danny Saucedo, Ed Sheeran and Carly Rae Jepsen and then a recruitment song from ISIS – "For the sake of Allah."

According to a report published by Aftonbladet, Jakob Gravestam, Marketing Director at Bauer Media said that someone has disturbed the frequency of the radio station by entering a pirate transmitter. He added that the team would report the incident to the police and also to the National Post and Telecom Agency. An internal investigation has begun, Gravestam said.

According to the Local, Gravestam confirmed to 24Malmö.se that the three-minute song along with lyrics trying to tempt people from Western countries into joining ISIS with promises about maidens waiting in paradise for fighters was played for around 30 minutes.

Gravestam said "It is of course very serious, especially as they played a song about recruitment for ISIS." Gravestam admitted that it was very difficult to stop someone with a pirate transmitter from hijacking a radio frequency.

Mix Megapol confirmed the that the frequency of the radio station was disturbed due to a pirate transmitter. The radio channel of Aftonbladet also stated the same.

Mix Megapol is a private Swedish radio network which is controlled by ProSiebensat.1 Media AG. It was launched in 1993 under the name Skärgårdsradion (Archipelago Radio). Later that same year when the broadcasting permissions were auctioned out, the name of the radio channel was changed to Radio Megapol.

In 1997 the word "Mix" was added to the channel’s name and their slogan became "The best mix of hits and oldies."

Mix Megapol is on air in 24 cities from Kiruna in the north to Malmö in the south. The radio station has over two million listeners per week and their target group is people aged between 25 and 45.

According to the 24Malmö.se, Mix Megapol does not want to comment on the information right away.

ISIS has been designated as a terrorist organization by the United Nations and many countries. It follows an extremist interpretation of Islam, promotes religious violence, and regards Muslims who do not agree with its interpretations as infidels.
