‘Switched At Birth’ Season 5 Spoilers: Bay Learns Travis’ Secret In Episode 9 Sneak Peek
Although he had a slight setback during a party on “Switched at Birth” Season 5, episode 9, it looks like Travis is on his way to getting his life back on track, but will the past throw him off his game?
In the sneak peek of “The Wolf is Waiting,” Travis (Ryan Lane) makes Bay (Vanessa Marano) breakfast and to her surprise, her apartment is clean. The night before, she and Daphne (Katie Leclerc) hosted a “Lights on Party” which resulted in Travis punching another student who was making fun of people with disabilities.
Despite the brief scuffle, Bay is impressed with her clean apartment and offers to take Travis out to dinner to thank him. He declines, informing her that he already has dinner plans at home.

Bay seems confused seeing as Melody (Marlee Matlin) is out of town, but Travis reveals that he will be going to see his “bio mom.” This is news for Bay who wasn’t aware that the two were even on speaking terms. Travis reveals that he and his mother have been texting lately and she has been making an effort to connect with him.
When Travis was in high school, he and his mother didn’t have the best relationship. She didn’t bother to learn American Sign Language in order to communicate with him and instead, yelled at him while making up fake signs. Due to her neglect and lack of support Travis was forced to repeat grades.
Eventually, he moved in with Melody and Emmett (Sean Berdy) and the three became a family. Since then, his mother has been pretty much out of the picture with Melody taking on the mother figure role in his life.
However, now that Travis’ bio mom is trying to work her way back into his life, there is no telling how it will affect his family with Melody. Will Travis and his mom finally have a good relationship or will this dinner be a recipe for disaster?
