‘SYTYCD’ Season 14 All-Star Paul Karmiryan Pays Tribute To Sydney Tormey Post-Elimination
“So You Think You Can Dance” Season 14 all-star Paul Karmiryan recently paid tribute to his partner, Sydney Tormey, after she was eliminated on Monday night.
Since their first live performance in the hit Fox dance reality TV competition, Tormey has been in the bottom three. Last week, she stood alongside Logan Hernandez and Robert Green at the bottom spots, but the judges decided to save her and Logan for at least another week.
On Monday night, Tormey was once again in the bottom three, but this time around she was joined by South Korean dancer Dassy Lee and Hawaii native Mark Villaver. All-star Comfort Fedoke’s partner, Villaver, was the first one saved by judge Nigel Lythgoe. In the end, it was Tormey who was sent home.
In his post, Karmiryan expressed how proud he is of Tormey, as well as how much fun he had performing with her. The all-star all called his former partner the “sweetest and most humble person” he has ever met. Even though Tormey is no longer qualified to bring home the $250,000 grand prize and perform for America’s votes, she will return to the “So You Think You Can Dance” stage in the finale.
Meanwhile, there are only eight dancers left in the competition and everyone is fighting for the no. 1 spot. All-star Robert Roldan and his partner, Taylor Sieve, are still dubbed as this season’s frontrunners. Their sexy Samba routine made judges Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Vanessa Hudgens very excited.
Koine Iwasaki and all-star Marko Germar also showed that they could be jacks of all trades. Their first hip-hop routine was very strong, and they were also commended by all three judges. Just like them, Hernandez and all-star Allison Holker did an impressive jive routine that was extremely quick. Both dancers’ energy was palpable throughout their entire number.
Additionally, Kaylee Millis and all-star Cyrus Spencer, as well as Lee and all-star Fik-Shun performed a jazz routine. Villaver and all-star Fedoke and Kiki Nyemchek and all-star Jenna Johnson danced a contemporary routine.
“So You Think You Can Dance” Season 14 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
