T-Mobile To Offer Microsoft Lumia 640 Following Cricket: Price, Release Date And Specifications Listed
At last, there’s some good news for the die-hard Lumia fans based in the U.S. Apparently, the Microsoft Lumia 640 smartphone, launched not too long ago in March, is headed to T-Mobile.

According to an official tweet from T-Mobile, the Microsoft Lumia 640 can be purchased from the carrier starting July 16 in the U.S. Also, it is worth noting that the Lumia 640 price for the T-Mobile network is apparently $89. In the meantime, the carrier Cricket is reportedly offering the Lumia 640 smartphone for a price of $129.99, under the prepaid scheme. In addition to T-Mobile and Cricket, AT&T will also launch this handset along with the bigger sibling Lumia 640 XL in the near future, notes Phone Arena.
Lumia 640 Specifications And Features
Key Microsoft Lumia 640 specifications state that the device features a 5-inch IPS LCD display bundled with a screen resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. This display details translate to a modest pixel density of 294 ppi. As for the hardware component, the handset comes powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400) SoC running at 1.2 GHz and backed by 1 GB of RAM. On the software front, the phone runs on Windows Phone 8.1 OS packed with the latest Lumia Denim update, out of the box.
Moving on to the memory configuration, the Lumia 640 comes equipped with 8 GB of internal storage capacity, along with microSD card slot for expansion up to a solid 128 GB. Moreover, the phone is 8.8 millimeters (0.35-inch) thick and it weighs only 145 grams (5.11 ounces). To top it off, Microsoft has reportedly utilized Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 for display protection. In addition, the well-received ClearBlack display technology is also part of this Lumia device.
With regard to camera specs, the Lumia 640 houses an 8 MP rear-facing unit with autofocus and LED flash. Plus, there is also a 1 MP shooter unit at the front for selfies. Last, the entire configuration is powered by a good 2,500 mAh battery unit. Notably, this battery can provide up to 17 hours and 30 minutes of 3G talk time and 864 hours of 3G standby time.
