Tarek El Moussa Reveals Which Of His Kids Could Pursue Career In Property Design, TV

Tarek El Moussa thinks his daughter could someday pursue a career similar to his own.

El Moussa, 40, has made a name for himself in the real estate industry through HGTV's "Flip or Flop" with ex-wife Christina Haack and his solo show "Flipping 101." In a recent interview with Us Weekly, he said that between his two children, he believes his 11-year-old daughter, Taylor, is the most likely to follow in his design footsteps.

"She has an eye for design, and she just has the biggest personality," said El Moussa, who shares Taylor and 6-year-old son Brayden with Haack. "So I do believe she’ll end up in the same space — TV, real estate design."

The HGTV star also shared some of his parenting dos and don'ts, revealing that he and his fiancée, Heather Rae Young, make sure to limit the kids' screen use at home.

"We’re doing a little bit [of] research to find out what’s fair," he told the outlet. "I’m actually in the process of getting [social media accounts] for them, but they’re only able to access them on Daddy’s phone. So I’ll have full control."

El Moussa added that when his kids have their own phones, he plans to check their texts every day.

As for his "favorite" part of fatherhood, the dad-of-two said he loves his date nights with his son and daughter.

"Taylor loves this, like, fancy steakhouse restaurant," the reality star said. "So we go there, we get dressed up. She wears a dress. I wear a suit. I get her flowers. She gets an expensive filet. … Bray, we’ll go down to Boomers, we’ll drive the little cars, we’ll play video games. We have a ton of fun."

El Moussa also revealed that he doesn't engage any dad-shamers on social media and "would just block them."

In another interview, El Moussa said he considers Haack's second ex-husband Ant Anstead and his current girlfriend Renée Zellweger part of his big extended family. Haack and Anstead share one child, 2-year-old Hudson.

"We’ve gotten to know each other a little bit at this point now," El Moussa told Us Weekly of the "Wheeler Dealers" star. "And my kids and his kid are, you know, they’re family and it’s like a big extended family."

Haack announced last month that she is engaged to her new beau, real estate agent Joshua Hall, after finalizing her divorce from Anstead in June. Meanwhile, El Moussa got engaged with Young on the one-year anniversary of their first date in July 2020.
