Tareq and Michaele Salahi of Virginia have left many shocked with disbelief after getting past the Secret Service and into the state dinner at the White House on Tuesday.

A criminal investigation against the uninvited couple may soon begin after they crashed the White House dinner honoring Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Michaele Salahi posted photos of the couple posing with Vice President Joe Biden and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel as well as other guests on her Facebook page.

The couple left the event before dinner was served.

The Salahis are described by The Washington Post as polo-playing socialites who have been vying for a spot on a cable reality- television program.

The state diner was the first of the Obama presidency.
