Taylor Swift Dominates Billboard 200 Chart Again With 'Evermore', Lands A Movie Role

Taylor Swift is back at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with “Evermore.” The ninth studio album of the American singer-songwriter dominated the tally again after selling a total of 202,000 album units in the United States in the week ending June 3.
According to Billboard, modern-era record-breaking vinyl LP sales, Swift-signed CDs, and deep discount on its digital album contributed to the surge in “Evermore” sales. The said album even surpassed the record of the largest sales week of the year, previously held by Swift’s “Fearless (Taylor’s Version).
With the latest feat of the “Evermore” album, Swift’s cumulative total weeks atop the Billboard 200 tally climbs to 53 weeks. The pop star broke out of a tie with Garth Brooks, who has a total of 52 weeks at the No. 1 spot.
Swift has now become the artist with the third-most weeks at No. 1 on Billboard 200 chart. The Beatles have the most weeks at the top spot with 132 weeks, while Elvis Presley is in second place with a total of 67 weeks.
For starters, the Billboard 200 chart lists the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, which is comprised of streaming equivalent albums, track equivalent albums, and album sales.
Meanwhile, Swift also landed a role in the upcoming movie with a working title “Canterbury Glass.” The “Back to December” hitmaker would star alongside Margot Robbie.
Though details of the imminent film remain scarce as of this writing, reports have it that it would be a comedy. There are also reports saying that filming for the David Russell-directed movie has already wrapped.
The role would serve as Swift’s first acting job since she portrayed as Bombalurina in the adaptation of Andrew Llyod Webber’s stage musical titled “Cats.”
Other personalities expected to appear in the forthcoming movie include Anya Taylor-Joy of “The Queen’s Gambit,” Chris Rock of “Grown Ups,” Zoe Saldana of “Guardian of the Galaxy,” Rami Malek of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Robert De Niro of “Joy,” Timothy Olyphant of “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” John David Washington of “Tenet,” and Mike Myers.
