Taylor Swift is open to the idea of making her song "The Last Great American Dynasty" a movie with her friends Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Jesse Tyler Ferguson playing the roles.
One of Swift's songs in her "Folklore" album has caught the attention of her fans who think that it will make a great movie. "The Last Great American Dynasty" tells the story of Rebekah Harkness, a socialite who once owned Swift's home in Rhode Island.
"‘The Last Great American Dynasty’ would make an incredible movie. The story is timeless yet unique, the music would be exquisite, and it already has the perfect title. As for the cast: Blake Lively (Rebekah), Ryan Reynolds (Bill), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (neighbor). Manifesting," one wrote on Twitter.
Reynolds, who was named by the Twitter user to play Bill, commented with "But Bill's heart...?" In the song, Bill was the heir to the “Standard Oil” and married Rebekah. He had a heart problem and the lyrics suggest that it could be Rebekah's fault.
In real life, William Hale “Bill" Harkness is Rebekah’s second husband. He is the heir to Standard Oil company who died from heart attack in 1954.
"Not trying to be The Loudest Woman This Town Has Ever Seen but... I LOVE THIS," Swift replied.
Swift has just won the Best Director award at the recently concluded MTV 2020 VMAS for directing her music video for "The Man." Twitter users are supportive of Swift helming "The Last Great American Dynasty" movie.
"Well you're an award winning director, so you got this! I can't wait to see you make it happen," @Suzg416 commented on Swift's reply.
"Make it happen, Taylor," Alex Goldschmidt, associate director at Digital Media Management, encouraged Swift to make the movie.
Meanwhile, Ferguson is also onboard with the movie. He also commented on the tweet and wrote, "Ok I'm avail for this," while tagging Reynolds, Lively and Swift.
Reynolds and Lively have been close friends with Swift since 2015. Their daughter James previously made a voice over in Swift's 2017 song "Gorgeous." The "Folklore" singer also named one of her songs "Betty" partly because of the couple's third daughter. Their other two daughters James and Inez were also mentioned in Swift's song.
"Everyone makes mistakes, everybody really misses up sometimes. This is a song that I wrote from the perspective of a 17 year old boy. I named all the characters in this story after my friend’s kids, and I hope you like it!" she wrote on Twitter when she introduced the song.
