Taylor Swift Embodies Rapunzel In Latest Disney Campaign [PHOTOS/VIDEO]
Hopeless romantic Taylor Swift has been transformed into a princess for Disney Parks’ latest campaign.
The 23-year-old country singer embodies Rapunzel in the photos that were captured by famed photographer, Annie Leibovitz.
In the photos, Swift is perched on a high tower, staring in to the distance, with miraculously long hair flowing in the wind; the image is captioned, “Where adventure awaits.” In another photo, she plays the guitar.
The images are a part of a collective called Disney Dream Portrait that has all been taken by Leibovitz.
Several celebrities have posed for the campaign in the past, including Russell Brand as Captain Hook, Jack Black, Will Ferrell and Jason Segel star as the Haunted Mansion’s Phineas, Ezra and Gus, Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella, Rachel Weisz as Snow White, Jessica Biel as Pocahontas, David Beckham as Sleeping Beauty’s Prince Phillip, Beyonce Knowles as Alice (In Wonderland), Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony as Jasmine and Aladdin, Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, Olivia Wilde and Alec Baldwin as the Evil Queen and Magic Mirror, Jeff Bridges and Penelope Cruz as Beauty and the Beast, Queen Latifah as Ursula and Whoopi Goldberg at the Genie.
Swift has said that she was “honored” to be a part of the whimsical campaign, adding that she has been a longtime fan of Disney.
“It's such a wonderful character to get to play, a childhood fantasy come into reality for me,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
“My parents realized I was really obsessed with [singing] when I'd go up to strangers and sing Lion King songs,” she continued.
“I think about all the times me and my little brother went to Disney World and we were able to escape to that place anytime we had a hard time. Any time you're going through something rough, you can go back into your imagination and you're at Disney World.”
According to Disney Parks, the ad will be featured in upcoming issues of Vanity Fair, InStyle and People.
