In a horrific case of animal cruelty in San Antonio, Texas, a teen fed his neighbor’s pet cat along with two other kittens to a pack to dogs.

The cat’s unidentified owner said the incident came to light last Friday when her neighbors arrived at her home to inform her that “they had found three cats, three dead cats in their yard. One adult cat and two small kittens.” The adult cat was identified as her pet named Bonnie that was with her for over 10 years. Officials were, however, unable to find out who the other two kittens belonged to.

“She's micro-chipped. She's spayed. You know, she ran the block for a very long time. I mean, she knows the area and the houses and everything, very nice cat," the cat owner said.

Speaking to KSAT 12 News, officials with the Animal Care Services (ACS) said a neighbor’s CCTV camera captured the teen feeding the felines to a pack of dogs. They said the suspect will be charged with animal cruelty.

"It's really a disturbing scene to see somebody, literally, not take into account the life of another living being," said Shannon Sims, ACS assistant director. "We know that there's a direct correlation between this type of behavior in humans, and it escalating into severe criminality and even domestic violence," Sims added.

Hoping that such situations can be prevented in the future, the cat owner said, "It's just very disturbing, because one minute it's a cat. And then, the next minute it's a baby, or a kid, or a human being or someone. You know, something terrible happened to somebody else.”
