Teen Had Sex With Younger Girls, Gets 1 Year Reformative Training

A teenager, who was addicted to drugs, had sex with three underage girls on different occasions in Singapore, media reports said. On Thursday, the 18-year-old was sentenced to a year's reformative training.

According to reports, the teenager got involved in sexual activities with an underage schoolmate who regarded him as her best friend. He decided to drop out of school and targeted another minor. He later got a job as a dishwasher and became addicted to methamphetamine. In another incident, he had sex with a third underage girl while out on bail for drug consumption.

A court ordered the boy to be sent to a reformative training center to follow a strict regimen that includes foot drills and counseling, the Straits Times reported.

On Feb. 20, the teenager pleaded guilty to drug consumption and three counts of having sexual intercourse with the girls.

According to court papers, the teenager's first victim was the schoolmate whom he got to know in January 2015 when she was 13 years old. In early 2016, he forced her to have sex with him despite her rejection. Later that year, the boy dropped out of school and the two stopped contacting each other. The girl later told her schoolmates about her sexual encounter and one of them informed their teacher, following which a police report was filed on Feb. 23, 2017.

The culprit later befriended the second minor, who was 15, via Facebook in early 2017, and they had sex in his home on Feb. 13 that year. After the girl's mother found out about the sexual encounter, she alerted the police.

It remains unclear what happened after the two police reports were made.

On Oct. 31, 2017, officers from the Central Narcotics Bureau arrested the boy for suspected drug consumption and traces of Ice were found in his urine samples. He was charged on Feb. 22 2018 and was later released after getting bail. He then targeted his third victim, who was 13. The pair were in a relationship and had sexual intercourse four times in early July last year.

For each count of having sex with a minor below 14 years old, offenders can be jailed for up to 20 years and fined or caned.
