Teen Kills Baby Born Out Of Wedlock, Buries Body Minutes After Giving Birth

A teenager in Nigeria killed her newborn son born out of wedlock and buried him.

On Jan. 31, the 18-year-old teen’s stepmother took her to a place where she was administered with abortion injection. The following day, the teen gave birth to the boy following which he killed her and buried the body.

“After eight months of my pregnancy on Friday, Jan.31, my stepmother took me to a house in Sankara village where I was given injections about two times by a medical personnel. A day after, I gave birth to a bouncing baby boy and killed the baby instantly, took it to the bush and buried it in a shallow grave,” the unidentified teen said in a statement to police.

The incident, however, came to light Friday when the neighbors alerted the police that the teen’s baby was missing. The teen was detained for questioning. She confessed to killing the child and burying the boy’s body. She then took the police officers to the place where she had buried the baby. The boy’s body was exhumed and sent for autopsy.

Police took the woman and her child’s father into custody. Further investigation was ongoing.
