A 19-year-old girl and her boyfriend killed her father, chopped his body into pieces and stuffed it in a suitcase before throwing it in a river. The incident took place in the western Indian state of Maharashtra.

The investigation began on Nov.30 after police found the suitcase in the river with a leg, hand and mutilated private part inside. A sweater was also found inside the suitcase which was used to cover the body parts. The police then went to the shop where the sweater was stitched and got a receipt which was in the name of Bennett Rebello.

The investigators then found him on Facebook and also found a photo of Rebello wearing the same sweater. The officers then found his visiting card in one of his posts which had his address. The officers reached his home which was locked. Investigation revealed that the man was not seen in the area for 10 days. Police then learned that the victim had an adopted daughter named Riya who had a 16-year-old boyfriend.

Police then traced the two and interrogated them during which they confessed to the crime. It was revealed that that incident took place on Nov. 27. The two first stabbed the victim with a knife and sprayed a mosquito killer over him. The two then chopped his body parts and stuffed them in bags and a suitcase. The accused then threw the suitcase into the river.

When questioned about why they killed the man, the girl said he had sexually assaulted her and that he also opposed her relationship with her boyfriend.

"We are yet to investigate further details of this gruesome crime and yet to confirm whether it was a planned murder or not. The accused was adopted by Rebello two years ago. Her parents live in Asalpha, Ghatkopar. The minor accused [boyfriend] is her neighbour in Asalpha," police said, adding that they were yet to recover the bags with the remaining body parts.
