Teen Left Permanently Disfigured After Friend Bites Her In Nightclub Fight Over Ex-Boyfriend
A teen girl, who attacked and viciously bit her friend’s face in a nightclub fight over an ex-boyfriend, pleaded guilty to the assault Tuesday.
A court in Scotland heard Tuesday that both of them, 18 at the time the incident took place in February this year, were friends before and had developed hard feelings over the victim’s past partner. The prosecutor told the court, “At the time of the offense the complainer was in a relationship with a man who was formerly the partner of the accused.”
The victim, Kyra Strachan, told the court that she was on the dance floor before she was attacked from behind and dragged down the floor by the accused, Danielle Gaffar. She said her head was smashed several times on the floor and that when their friends tried to intervene, the accused tightened her arm around the victim’s neck, ceasing her breath. After the ruckus, the accused bit the victim’s cheek which " left the right side of her cheek hanging."
The nightclub staff took notice of the incident and threw the accused out before calling the police. The police officers responded promptly and called for an ambulance as soon as they realized that the victim required medical attention. She received eight stitches on her right cheek along with multiple bruises on her forehead. The victim had to allegedly undergo plastic surgery after the attack.
The accused pleaded guilty in court to assaulting the victim causing her severe injuries along with permanent disfigurement on Tuesday and will face a jail sentence. The accused will be sentenced on Oct.31.
