Video Of Taco Bell Brawl Leads To Firing Of Six Employees

A man who was assaulted alongside his girlfriend by Taco Bell employees was initially just offered a $20 gift card after complaining to the fast food company. However, after a cell phone video surfaced of the attack, the chain is changing their tune.

Bryan Reese was allegedly assaulted by six employees in the late evening on Feb. 24 at a Philadelphia location after complaining that his order was taking too long to be prepared, reports ABC6.

“I just stopped by the Taco Bell to pick some friends up who were getting food at the end of the night,” Reese said, according to Fox-2 in St. Louis.

While there, a number of other customers were waiting on orders as well. Reese said the employees stated a large number of orders from Grubhub, which teamed up with Taco Bell for nationwide delivery in February, was the reason for the delay.

“They knew everybody was upset, they seemed to be upset too,” Reese continued.

According to reports, after a series of complaints, several employees jumped over the counter and followed Reese outside, where his girlfriend was waiting. A video of the incident, posted above, has since been released.

“I backed out of the store. They continued to follow me,” Reese told ABC6. “They put me on the ground, and I don’t really remember too much else. Except for when I got up my girlfriend was on the ground being beat, too. She wasn’t even in the store at the time.”

A Taco Bell spokesperson has since released a statement regarding the incident, saying, “We’re shocked and disappointed to see this situation; we and our franchisees do not tolerate this behavior. The franchisee who owns and operates this location is retraining its staff, and all team members involved have been terminated.”
