‘Teen Mom’ Jenelle Evans’ Husband Courtland Rogers Pleads Guilty To Assault
Courtland Rogers, the estranged husband of “Teen Mom 2” star Jenelle Evans, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault against Evans on Monday.
The 21-year-old reality star previously released a photo of herself with a dark bruise on her left jaw line that she said had come from Rogers. In a police report from November of last year, Evans accused Rogers, “picking her up, throwing her against the wall, bashing her head on the wall, punching her in her head, back, stomach, and legs.”
According to Radar Online, Rogers, who was arrested last week, is not fighting the charges. Evans’ attorney, Dustin Sullivan, said that his client’s husband had fessed up to hitting his wife while she was pregnant and would receive a probationary sentence. “Courtland Rogers pleaded guilty to one count of assault on a female and one count of assault on an unborn child,” Sullivan said. “He received a probation sentence of 24 months.”
Evans miscarried shortly after the assault and separated from Rogers, but the couple are rumored to have reconciled since then. Some sources have also speculated that Evans was not actually pregnant when she claimed to be. Gossip blogs have accused her of possibly inventing the miscarriage claims to get publicity. Rogers also accused her of continuing to take drugs while she was pregnant, a claim she refuted.
Evans recently admitted to being addicted to heroin, writing in a tweet to her ex-boyfriend Kieffer Delp, "I hate you kieffer!!!! why cant you leave my life alone and stay away from me..you got me strung out on heroin <a data-cke-saved-href="http://www.eonline.com/news/404401/teen-mom-2-s-jenelle-evans-admits-to-heroin-addiction" href="http://www.eonline.com/news/404401/teen-mom-2-s-jenelle-evans-admits-to-heroin-addiction" a="" "="">#BYE.” In February, Evans entered rehab in Malibu, Fla. for drug addiction but declined to say what drugs she was addicted to, E! Online reported. Her drug use has reportedly not only caused friction in her personal life, but also in her professional relationship with MTV.
In January, sources close to Evans told E! News that the reality star’s personal problems had made her “too much of a liability” for the company. “The way she’s going, she could literally die and MTV will be blamed for it,” the source said.
Evans’ boyfriend at the time, Gary Head, denied those claims and defended her on Twitter.
"Jenelle is NOT ON DRUGS," he tweeted. "She got sent for emotional support because this season was so intense. MTV Does not want her to see this season and then relapse BC of all the stress."
"But I will say that Jenelle does not do drugs," he continued. "I won't allow that and he knows that if she ever goes back to drugs then she can have them. But she won't have me. I won't allow it."
