Is ‘Teen Mom’ Kail Lowry Hoping For A Girl? Her Thoughts On Baby 3’s Gender

Kail Lowry doesn’t have a preference when it comes to the gender of her new baby. The “Teen Mom 2” star opened up about baby No. 3’s secret gender on social media Monday night, revealing she isn’t concerned if she welcomes a third son.

It all started when “Teen Mom OG” lead Catelynn Baltierra tweeted at Kail, writing that her baby, whom she affectionately calls “Lo,” needs to be a girl.

“I want to make sure you’re a girl,” the MTV reality star tweeted at the expectant mom. Kail responded by writing she’s convinced she’ll be welcoming another son. “I still think it’s a boy,” she replied.

When a fan got in on the conversation, writing to Kail that she understands her possible disappointment over not having a girl, Kail confirmed she doesn’t have a preference in regards to her baby’s gender.

“I never cared about the sex,” she wrote. “That’s not important to me.”

While Kail isn’t sure what gender her baby with ex-boyfriend Chris Lopez is, that hasn’t stopped her from trying to pick out a name. On Sunday, Kail tweeted a poll out to fans, asking their opinion on the name Murphy for a girl or a boy. “I like last names for first names,” she explained, but her followers didn’t agree. A whopping 78 percent said they didn’t favor the name.

When she didn’t get a positive response to Murphy, Kail revealed she had researched how long she has to name the baby after it’s born. “Ok cool,” she wrote after sharing she discovered she has 90 days to make a decision.

Last week, Kail updated fans on the baby naming process by saying she was having the “hardest time” deciding. “I don’t want anything popular to trendy,” she explained.

Kail’s two sons have also gotten in on the naming action. In March, Kail revealed that her eldest Isaac, 7, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera, and 3-year-old son Lincoln with ex-husband Javi Marroquin, both liked the name Climber for a boy. Meanwhile, Isaac favored the name Alexa for a girl.

Kail first opened up about her third pregnancy in February, revealing she decided to wait to tell fans because it was considered high risk. She also initially refused to name the child’s father only to later confirm it was Chris, whom she met in college. The pair has since parted ways.

“This was the choice I made. This is the baby I thought I wasn’t sure if I could have,” she explained on her blog at the time.

“I know this isn’t an ideal situation but I know everything will be okay...I can and I will survive anything. Having another child is something I am so happy about and I just can’t wait. My boys are so excited, those who love me are so excited, and I hope that everyone can just be happy for me during this time.”
