‘Teen Mom’ Star Matt Baier’s Ex-Girlfriend Committed Suicide After Sexual Assault Allegations: Report
Matt Baier, the fiancé of “Teen Mom” star Amber Portwood, has been plagued with controversy since he started dating the MTV reality star. First, fans gawked over Baier’s age, but now things have taken a sinister turn. The girlfriend who allegedly accused Baier of sexual assault committed suicide months after she made the allegations, Radar Online reported Monday.
The publication declined to reveal the woman’s name for privacy reasons, calling her “Michelle” in the report. The woman filed a restraining order against Baier, and then six months later, in November 2014, she killed herself, her mother told Radar Online.
She ended the relationship after the sexual assault. Then, she discovered Baier, 44, had told her “all kinds of lies.”
“She left, and filed a restraining order to protect herself,” an insider told Radar Online Monday. “She did some research on him, and found out a lot of what he told her wasn’t true.”
Radar Online spoke with someone who defended Baier. The insider said “he did not keep in touch” with his ex and did not know she died.
One of Baier’s lies has already been exposed on “Teen Mom.” During Season 6, Portwood’s ex-fiancé, Gary Shirley, discovered Baier was the father of seven children, not two. Other shady behavior from the Boston native was also unearthed, like how he tweeted nasty comments at “Teen Mom 2” star Kailyn Lowry.
Portwood, 25, maintains her boyfriend is a good guy. Their wedding is set for October 2017. It may not be filmed for the reality show.
“Teen Mom 2” Season 7 premieres Monday, March 21, at 10 p.m. EST on MTV. Watch the official trailer below:
