'Teen Wolf: The Movie' Showrunner Says Allison Argent's Character Is 'Not A Cameo'
Showrunner Jeff Davis opened up about Allison Argent's character, played by actress Crystal Reed, returning to the movie version of "Teen Wolf" despite the character dying in the series version.
While the plot details of the supernatural thriller movie have been kept under wraps, the showrunner revealed that Allison will return and not just for a cameo.
"It's not a cameo!" Davis told Collider in an interview published Wednesday. "She's a big part of the movie, and I think it's pretty significant seeing her walk away from the burning wreck of a car with arrows on her back."
Davis further shared that he doesn't want to give spoilers but added that the character does have a lot of "fun" things to do in the upcoming movie.
"Teen Wolf: The Movie" is helmed by director Russell Mulcahy and penned by Davis. The movie is slated to release on Paramount+ and it will also feature Tyler Posey, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, Dylan Sprayberry, Shelley Hennig, Colton Haynes, Ian Bohen and JR Bourne.
Paramount+ shared the teaser trailer of the upcoming movie on their official YouTube channel last month.
"A terrifying new evil has emerged in Beacon Hills calling for the return of Alpha Werewolf Scott McCall (Posey), to once again reunite the Banshees, Werecoyotes, Hellhounds, Kitsunes, and other shapeshifters of the night," the description read.
The movie announcement came after the success of the "Teen Wolf" series, which was first dropped in 2011. The final season of the series was released on 2017.
The series earned several awards including Teen Choice Awards in 2012, 2016 and 2017, Young Hollywood Award for Best Ensemble Cast, TV: Scene Stealer and ALMA Award.
The series was an adaptation of 1985's comedy fantasy drama of the same name, helmed by director Rod Daniel.
Aside from working on "Teen Wolf: The Movie," Reed will also appear in the movie, "Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game" as Ellen. The comedy flick is helmed by directors Austin and Meredith Bragg.
She will also play the role of Lia in a thriller comedy titled "Dead Giveaway," which is being directed by Ian Kimble.
