‘Teen Wolf’ Season 4 Spoilers: Shelley Hennig Teases 'Awkward' Father-Daughter Reunion For Malia
“Teen Wolf” will be back with a brand-new episode on Monday, June 30, at 10 p.m. EDT. And according to reports, viewers will get more Season 4 drama than they originally anticipated when episode 2, “117,” airs.
Due to Derek’s hairless transformation, Scott and the gang will be forced to reach out to an “unlikely ally” in hopes of foiling Kate Argent’s villainous plan. But who could they be seeking help from? Well, we think we have a pretty good idea of who this mystery person is – especially after Shelley Hennig, who plays Malia Tate on the hit MTV series, dished some juicy spoilers to TVLine.
The actress explained that Stiles won’t be the only man in her life during the fourth season. Apparently Malia will reunite with her father at some point during Season 4 and yeah, their reunion will be a bit “awkward," according to TVLine.
Malia is the long-lost daughter of Peter Hale, the man responsible for turning Kate into a werejaguar after he slashed the hunter’s throat open with his bare claws. Peter’s daughter has been living alone for the past eight years as a fully transformed werecoyote after the tragic death of her mother and sister occurred. Malia was then forced into human form by Scott after she attacked Kira. The new Beacon Hills student is now learning the ways of humans by Stiles and how to control/use her supernatural powers by Scott.
But will the two prepare Malia for what will happen when she reunites with her father? It seems unlikely. Apparently the two have been dissing Peter and his unruly ways since the first day they met Malia.
“Peter is the guy who Malia has heard nothing but horrible things about from Scott, Stiles and Lydia,” Hennig explained. “I’m sure there’s a part of her that thinks, ‘This is my Dad, I can’t ignore him,’ but then there’s also another part, telling her, ‘I don’t think that’s a good idea.’ There might be a bit of a struggle with that.”
The reason a father/daughter reunion might occur in the near future is: Who better to reach out to with regard to Kate then the Alpha who caused the transformation?
Are you excited for Malia to finally meet her father? Sound off in the comments section below and don’t forget to tune into episode 2 of Season 4 when “Teen Wolf” returns Monday night, June 30, at 10 p.m. EDT.
